Bumped into Duncan, whom I meet by chance only once every three or four months, and he said that he had been doing a bit of gym climbing lately. He asked me if I was interested in going climbing anytime soon. As it happened Jorge was keen on heading out after work. So Duncan and Jorge met at my place and we headed off to Baden in Jorge's Panzer. This time we found the place first time out - unlike last time when we got horribly lost.
I had brought the camera along this time because I wanted some pics of the wall. We sent Jorge up everything first because he's turned into a hardman climber this year. I did pretty badly on the first climb, chickening out on something that might have had a single 6a move on it. But the rest wasn't too shameful. Jorge climbed everything we suggested without qualm and after that first one I managed a few more that were ok. Duncan, who hasn't led much, restricted himself to top-roping and had a reasonable time learning what real rock is all about. He burned his arms out too fast though ... which is the usual way it goes for someone's first day climbing outdoors.
Jorge had to leave early so Duncan and I stuck around for a couple more. The walk down to the train station and the ride back to Zurich didn't take very long, and Duncan had dinner with me and Leila at our place.
